| 1905 – In Gallarate,
Italy the manufacturer Pietro Albeni established
the firm giving it his own name. At first the firm
manufactured wool fabrics for flags, linen and linings.
Overcoming the events of the two World Wars, the
firm gradually specialized in the manufacture of
high quality lining fabrics, thus becoming a well-known
brand for Italian tailoring. Later on the firm was
run by Pietro’s daughter, Edwige, in partnership
with Giannino Orani, an expert in new textile technology.
The two partners decided to complete the range of
fabrics for tailoring. The firm obtained a patent
and started manufacturing double face tie linings
in1954. Tessitura Albeni was the first textile company
to manufacture the tie linings.
In the 1960s the two partners decided to specialize
in the manufacturing and cutting of tie lining
fabrics, once more becoming a leading firm in
the market. Albeni provides the most important
Italian and foreign tie makers with custom made
specialized fabrics and shapes. By the 1980s Albeni
had become well-established in making tie linings.
From custom tie linings, the firm has progressed
to producing made to measure ties. Our longtime
relationships with the leading silk manufacturers
in Como and the creation of our tailoring department
is the starting point for our custom made ties.
